About Grambling Adventist Youth Fellowship

History

Adventist Youth Fellowship was organized on Sabbath the 1st September 2007 in the Hunter- Robinson meeting Lounge on the Campus of Grambling State University. It began as a result of the efforts of Mrs. Gloria Ard and the International Students at Grambling State University, who were members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, to find a suitable place on campus for worship and meetings. Prior to that, students were transported to Churches in Monroe and West Monroe for Sabbath Services and had been meeting in apartments for vespers. The Group was organized due to the increase in the number of Seventh-day Adventist on the campus and the lack of sufficient transportation to take them to and from Monroe and West Monroe. From the inception Adventist Youth Fellowship became affectionately known on campus as AYF.

The next step was to define the group’s purpose. Being Seventh-day Adventist Christians, our love for Christ and a desire to see others follow Him was our motivation for service. We all believed in the soon coming of Jesus and thus “Jesus is Coming Again” became our banner. As a result the organization Adventist Youth Fellowship (AYF) adopted as its purpose to harness maturing Christian young people and their collective talents and gifts in an effort to spread the good news of salvation and to proclaim the three Angels Messages as sited in Revelation 14: 16-11.

In order to achieve its purpose and mission, the group adopted the following objectives:

To rekindle in the hearts of men a love for truth by prayer and bible study.To equip men and women for mission towards the saving of souls. To establish an enduring Seventh-day Adventist Movement in Grambling and its neighboring  environs. To prepare a generation of believers in all dimensions for the end time and the
